Located in quaint Deep River, CT, nestled between Essex and Chester in the Connecticut River Valley, this traditional colonial inn transports you back in time, for a relaxing and memorable stay. The original house was built in 1854, with a seamless addition built on in 1987, and has been operating as an Inn since 1985. The current owners, Elaine & Leo Klevens, will make your stay a warm and welcoming experience.
Eight traditionally appointed guest rooms provide lodging near Essex, CT with comfort and privacy. All rooms have private baths, AC, Wi-Fi, period antiques, and some have fireplaces. There are two common areas with fireplaces, and one features our 12-foot-long Rumford fireplace made of stone from the original foundation.
Area attractions such as Goodspeed Opera House, Essex Steam Train, Gillette Castle, and the Florence Griswold Museum are all minutes away from The Riverwind Inn. Area restaurants and shopping boast excellence.
A gourmet breakfast is served each morning in one of our two candlelit dining rooms. Individually served, you can relax, join in great conversations, and meet new friends. Suggestions for the day’s events are always available from the Innkeepers.
