Nestled along the river in southern Connecticut, The Riverwind Inn is located in one of the most scenic areas of the state. There is gorgeous site-seeing all year round along the riverfront, at nearby beaches and our many state parks. We'll offer maps and advice to anyone interested in an outdoor excursion. In addition to the natural attractions, the historic villages of Essex and Chester are just minutes away, along with several theaters, art galleries, museums and antique shops. While out exploring for the day, you'll find no shortage of wonderful dining choices throughout the area, several within walking distance of the inn.
We're fortunate to have many great dining choices throughout the area, from steak & seafood to Italian and Japanese. For fine dining to a casual lunch, the area boasts incredible food for all tastes.

The regions state parks offer a variety of landscapes for your outdoor adventure. You can picnic and swim at one of several local beaches, or spend a day hiking or biking in the woods or along the coast.
The area is home to several wonderful museums with both notable art and historical collections. Spend a nice day museum-hopping the area from Old Lyme to Essex.
