Spend a Day at Hammonasset Beach State Park

Planning an overnight getaway to The Riverwind Inn and choosing to spend some of your quality fun time at the beach is a great idea. Long Island Sound is an incredibly diverse and beautiful piece of shoreline conveniently close to the Inn.

We highly recommend visiting Hammonasset Beach State Park, Connecticut’s largest shoreline park, featuring more than two miles of sandy beach for swimming and sun.

Set up your beach chairs and umbrella. Take a walk along the Cedar Island Trail through the woods that leads to the boardwalk that ends in the marsh. Visit the Nature Center at Meigs Point.
