Rates are based on double occupancy and are subject to change. A 50% deposit is required when booking a two-night stay. Full payment is required for a one-night stay. Rates/policies are subject to change and may vary during high impact periods and special requests.
For additional people, we charge $50/per person plus tax. The Zelda room can accommodate one extra person on the twin pull out couch. The Champagne & Roses and Hearts & Flowers rooms can accommodate one extra person on a rollaway bed.
At The Riverwind Inn, we understand that situations arise that make cancellations unavoidable. Most stays are reserved far in advance making last minute cancellations difficult to fill. If your travel plans change and you must cancel your reservation, please call us at least 14 days prior to your arrival date to cancel and receive a refund less a $50 processing fee (per room).
In the event that you must cancel with less than fourteen (14) days notice, shorten your stay or check out early, please understand that we must ask you to take responsibility for your entire reservation. If we are able to rebook your room, we will not charge you. Thank you for your understanding.
Breakfast is served in one seating at 8:30 AM and is included with your stay. We are happy to accommodate special requests due to food allergies or dietary restrictions. Please let us know about these requests when you make your reservation or when you are checking in. Please let the Innkeepers know the night before if you will not be having breakfast.
We buy locally grown/produced, organic foods where possible. Course selections may vary seasonally with the availability of fresh produce. Generally, seating is communal so that you may enjoy the fascinating stories other guests from all over the world have to tell. If, however, you need some quality alone time, please tell us and we will do our very best to accommodate your request. If you need to leave before breakfast, please let us know by 6 pm the night before if you would like a bagged breakfast to take with you.

For the comfort and enjoyment of our guests, The Riverwind Inn is a smoke-free Inn. We do allow smoking outside.
Children & Pets
Children over the age of 12 are welcome but must be accompanied by a family member and count as a guest in the room. Although we really do love animals, we cannot accommodate pets.

The Riverwind Inn is staffed to check-in guests between 3-7 pm Eastern Standard Time. We are aware of the uncertainties of travel. Flights are delayed, traffic jams happen. As small inn owners and travelers ourselves, we realize that a stringent check-in time is not always optimal. However, our day is planned according to guest arrival times and late arrivals are difficult since we start our workday so early in the morning.
Please provide an estimated time of arrival between 3-7 pm. If your circumstances change, please call 860-526-2014. We check you in personally and we want to ensure that we do not greet you at the door in our pajamas!

Enjoy your stay but please be mindful that there are guests coming in after you who also expect the same clean and comfortable accommodations.
The Riverwind Inn is committed to accommodating the needs of all our guests, and we strive to provide visitors with the best accessible lodging experience as possible given that the home was built in the 1850s.
Our seven-room inn may not be accessible to all, and may present challenges in providing easy and independent handicapped accessibility. There are descriptions on our Rooms and Rates page on our website for each of our seven guest rooms at the Inn. Please refer to this information when considering your stay at The Riverwind Inn.
We have two guest rooms located on the first floor. Based on availability these rooms may be suitable for guests with some disabilities not requiring wheelchair access. The additional five guest rooms are all located on the second floor. There is no elevator in the inn. The steps can present difficulties for guests selecting accommodations on the second floor.
One common space for guests and two dining rooms, where breakfast is served, are on the first floor of the house.
We have identified and described accessible features and inaccessible features in our bed and breakfast and guest rooms to allow individuals with disabilities to determine whether our B&B meets their needs. Before booking a reservation, please note:
- The parking lot of the inn is crushed stone
- Four granite steps provide access to the main house
- From the back concrete paver terrace, we also have six steps to access the main house
- We do not have ramps to enter or exit the main house
- Guests with service animals as defined in the ADA will be provided access to all areas of the inn afforded to those without service animals
